Synopsis

The Innocence of Clara tells the story of two forty-year-old friends, Maurizio and Giovanni, raised in a high-mountain village between Tuscany and Liguria (the Lunigiana area), living among a marble quarry, everyday life, and silence. Maurizio marries Clara, a beautiful and elegant woman who has just arrived in the village: their new married life breeds frustration, boredom, and unhappiness.
