Synopsis
Poets is a documentary film directed by Tony D’Angelo, portraying the lives and words of contemporary Italian poets between Rome and the places of poetry. Biagio and Salvatore, two poet friends, reunite after years in front of Gregory Corso’s grave at the Non-Catholic Cemetery in Rome. From that meeting arises the desire to bring together the poetic community and organize a great reading — an event capable of bringing poetry back to the center of life and people, as happened in the legendary Castelporziano Festival of 1979. The film intertwines poetry, friendship, and artistic reflection, featuring major figures from the Italian literary scene.
