SHORT FILM COMPETITION 2025
Artistic Direction by Tony D’Angelo
Rome, Teatro Patologico — Via Cassia 472

First edition of La città che ci abita, an event I had the pleasure of directing and hosting in collaboration with Isola Produzioni as part of the 2025 Estate Romana.
Three intense evenings filled with screenings, debates, and special guests that portrayed Rome from new perspectives, making the city not just a backdrop but the true protagonist.
In particular, the final evening on October 5 featured the moving awards ceremony, with the Gaetano Di Vaio Award presented to Dolce notte amara by Giulio Faccini and the Sguardo Vivo Award granted to Illusio by Antonio Emanuele Ricci.
A finale enriched by the teaser premiere of Nino. 18 giorni and the highlight of the entire event — the screening of Nessuno è innocente, a moving tribute to Gaetano Di Vaio.
A special thanks to everyone who took part in and supported the initiative — the guests, the Isola Produzioni team, and Roma Capitale.
Each moment was a step toward celebrating a Rome that continues to inspire and offer extraordinary stories to tell.
<<Rome is not a backdrop — it’s the protagonist.>>.
